The framers of the Constitution identified the right to a free press as our first right. Today however, instead of being seen as a vital part of a functioning democracy, the press has been decried on occasion as an "enemy" of the government and purveyors of "fake news". Matt will talk about the importance of a strong, independent press in general and specifically the importance of a strong local news source.
